Privacy Policy

Overview

Chartfolio (“we”, “the app”) is a personal portfolio planning tool. It is not a broker, investment adviser, or source of personalized investment advice. You enter your own holdings and assumptions; projections are illustrative only. We do not connect to brokerages, request broker passwords, or pull your account. You may paste a snapshot or upload a file you exported yourself.

Data we store

• Account: username and a one-way password hash (scrypt). We never store plain-text passwords.
• Portfolio data you enter: positions, ledger months, gameplan assumptions, strategy notes, and related projections inputs. This may include financial information you choose to record.
• Session: an HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in.
• On-device cache: a copy of your portfolio in browser storage for offline viewing and faster load.
• Local reminders: if you turn Remind on, the phone may schedule on-device notifications (log cadence, optional trail-vs-plan). These stay on the device. We do not send marketing push.
• Public marks: optional last-price refresh uses public market quotes. Never a broker login.
• Purchases: Chartfolio Plus is sold as an Apple In-App Purchase. Apple is the merchant of record. We receive subscription status via Apple receipts processed through RevenueCat so the app can unlock Plus. We do not receive or store your full Apple ID password or card number.

How we use data

Data is used only to provide the planning features you request (projections, charts, multi-device sync). We do not sell your data. We do not use your portfolio for advertising.

Storage

Cloud portfolios are stored on infrastructure operated by Vercel (including object storage). The web app is hosted on Vercel. Access is limited to your account session.

Your controls

• Export a JSON backup from the app header / More menu.
• Delete your account (and cloud portfolio) from Account when signed in.
• Clear local browser data to remove the on-device cache.

Children

Chartfolio is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under 13.
